Ronald possesses over 20 years of project management experience that spans the financial services, education, agriculture, and energy sectors. He is focused on strategic Information & Communication Technology (ICT) organizational transformation initiatives having worked at CitiBank, Goldman Sachs,and the IADB. He’s currently a lecturer in project management and is the programme director of the MSc Programme & Project Management at the University of Liverpool.

Pedagogical innovation represents an “invisible hand” in business education yet very few outside academia are aware of how critical a role it plays in business school competitiveness. As such it is important for business schools to innovate pedagogically to ensure that graduates meet the business world’s expectations. In today’s fast paced business school environment where ranking, ratings and continuous vying for the affections of corporate endowments are a necessity most business school strategies tend to focus on strategic alliances, research or some form of applied consulting. Few institutions attempt to develop strategic advantage outside of the traditional branding methodologies and or the adoption of enabling technologies to provide further forms of differentiation from the academic pack. Cost structures, academic thought leadership and impressive facilities remain the most feasible domains for competitiveness. The emergence of MOOCs, cloud computing, business analytics and areas such as gamification are redefining the education landscape. Serious games as one such emerging area under the evolving umbrella of gamification has gained much exposure in the press, academic journals and conferences. However, little research has taken place as to its role as a strategic enabler of business school performance This dissertation focuses on serious games as a strategy towards competitive advantage within business education.
