Arusyak Zakaryan is an Assistant Professor of Strategy. She holds a PhD degree from SKEMA Business Shcool and a doctoral degree from University of Cote d'Azur. She does research in the areas of Strategy and Innovation. Her work focuses on better understanding of factors that influence organizational learning from experience. Specifically, she studies when and how organizations learn from their success (e.g. breakthrough inventions) and failures (e.g. product recalls) in innovation and operational activities. She is further interested in uncovering conditions under which near-failures (or near-misses) provide learning benefits. She studies these issues in several knowledge and innovation intensive industries such as Pharmaceuticals, Information and Communication Technologies and Photographic industry. Her work has been presented at the Academy of Management, Strategic Management Society, DRUID and Carnegie School Organizational Learning conferences.
